Banská Bystrica

The flood protection of the City of Banská Bystrica on the left bank of the Hron River consists of ten separate objects. The protection is carried out by means of an old protection wall that contains a mobile barrier installed in its passages. In the Hronské outskirts there is a longer barrier line before the car repair shop that runs from the railway bridge to the protection wall. The second line is in the neighbourhood of the ice stadium. The height of this barrier ranges from 0.7 to 1.4 meters and it length is approximately 90 meters. The highest barrier with the height of 1.7 meters is located under the railway bridge near the Banská Bystrica City railway station.
